Changelog

What's new in Tempora, most recent first.

New

Client portal

Give a client a private, read-only page showing who is on site right now, check-in and check-out times for the last two weeks and the coming week, and the invoices you have sent them. Create the link on the client's page; replace it or turn it off at any time. Every change is recorded in your audit log.

New

Timesheets: review and correct hours

A new Timesheets page lists every shift with what was scheduled, what was scanned and the hours payroll and client invoices will count. Entries with a missing check-in or check-out, or a check-in away from the site, are flagged, and an owner or admin can set the real times. Each correction is recorded in your audit log.

New

Analytics: trends, reliability and turnover

A new Analytics page charts hours per client, on-time and late check-ins, no-shows and overtime week by week, straight from your QR check-ins. Each worker gets a reliability score based on punctuality and no-shows, and you can see who joined and who left each month, with your turnover rate.

New

Leave calendar and balances

A new Leave page shows who is off on which day, approved or requested, plus sick leave, and every worker's paid-leave balance for the year: allowance, taken, planned and remaining. Set the yearly allowance for the whole agency, or per worker on their profile.

New

Onboarding checklist

Set up the steps every new worker has to complete, such as a signed contract, ID copy or safety briefing, and tick them off on each worker's profile. Until every step is done, the worker can't be scheduled: not by the generator, by hand or through open shifts.

New

Training courses and renewals

Certification types can now be marked as training courses, which block scheduling the same way when they lapse. On the compliance page, book the renewal course or exam for an expiring certificate, so you can see at a glance which ones are already taken care of.

New

Your own email wording

Add your own subject and message to shift reminders, schedule-change emails and certificate expiry warnings, with placeholders such as the worker's name and the shift time. The standard details always follow, so nothing important gets left out.

New

Report builder

Build a report of worked shifts for any period, client, site or worker, pick the columns you need (check-in and check-out times, hours, rate, amount, GPS) and export it to CSV: handy for client queries and audits.

New

Company details and VAT number check

Sign-up now asks for your company's country, registration number and address, and an EU VAT number if you have one. The VAT number is checked against the EU's official VIES register as you type. Existing agencies can add or update these details under Settings → Company details.

New

Contract hours per employee

Set each employee's weekly contract hours on their page. The schedule generator plans them up to that figure (plus overtime, only if you allow it for that run) and never past the legal weekly maximum.

Improved

Fill only the empty days

If part of the period you're generating already has shifts in that department, the generator now tells you which days, and one click fills only the days that are still empty instead of planning them twice.

Fixed

Schedule generator fixes

After the required rest day that follows the maximum run of night shifts, employees are scheduled for nights again. Custom shifts starting late in the evening now follow the night-shift rest rules. A busy previous week no longer stops someone being scheduled in the next one, and overnight shifts count both calendar days toward the consecutive-working-days limit.

New

Tempora in Turkish

Tempora is now available in Turkish (Türkçe), our 12th language: the website, the dashboard, the employee app and every email. Pick it from the language menu, or open tempora.ee/tr.

New

Site-specific certificates

Mark a certification type as valid for one department only, such as a site induction. Each employee's certificate then names the department it was issued for and only counts for shifts there, so one induction type covers every site.

New

Open shifts

Post any short-staffed shift as an open shift, with one click from the shifts page or straight from a sick-leave report. Employees who are qualified and free get a notification and can claim it from their phone; the first to claim gets it, and you're notified. Each employee only sees shifts they can actually take.

New

Worker availability

Employees can mark the times they can't work, either a single date or every week, for the whole day or a time range. The schedule generator and open shifts respect it like a day off, and managers can see it on each employee's page.

New

Certification warnings for scheduled shifts

Every day, Tempora checks the next two weeks of shifts. If someone's certification won't be valid by the end of a shift they're already on, owners and admins get a warning with up to three qualified, free replacements, in time to swap someone in.

Improved

Choose which certifications a department requires

When a department requires certification, you now pick exactly which certification types (for example a security license and first aid). Every shift in that department, generated or created by hand, requires them, and the schedule generator only assigns employees who hold each one, valid until the shift ends. The compliance page now lists exactly which certifications each employee is missing.

New

Shift preferences

Employees can ask for the shifts that suit them (morning, evening or night) for a set period or until further notice. Once a manager approves, the schedule generator puts them on those shifts first and only schedules them otherwise when nobody else can cover, flagging each exception so you can see it.

Improved

Approved time off clears existing shifts

Approving time off after a schedule is already published now takes the employee off their shifts on those days, and tells you how many shifts need cover. Days off, including sick leave, have always been respected when generating new schedules.

New

Sick leave

Employees can report sick leave from their phone with no approval step. They're taken off their shifts for those days, and owners and admins get a notification and an email listing the shifts that now need cover. Agencies can also require a medical certificate, which employees upload with the report or later.

New

Tempora in 11 languages

Tempora now speaks English, Estonian, Finnish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian, German, French, Italian, Dutch and Spanish. Everyone picks their own language, and emails and notifications arrive in it — so each worker can read their schedule in the language they're most comfortable with.

New

Voucher codes

Got a voucher code from us? Redeem it in your billing settings to add free days to your subscription.

New

Client invoices

Turn billable hours into numbered invoices for each client, track them from draft to sent to paid, and print or save them as PDF. Every invoice keeps a fixed copy of its line items, so it never changes after the fact.

New

Payroll hours export

Export each employee's total worked hours for any date range as a CSV, ready to map into your payroll provider. Hours come from actual check-ins and check-outs, the same way client billing counts them.

New

GPS-verified check-in

Set a work-site location and radius for any department, and Tempora flags check-ins made from outside it for you to review. Check-ins are never blocked, since GPS indoors isn't always accurate.

New

Public API and webhooks

Connect Tempora to Zapier or your own systems. A read-only API gives access to employees, departments and shifts, and signed webhooks notify you when employees are added and when shifts are checked into, out of, or completed.

New

Bulk employee import via CSV

Add a whole roster at once instead of one employee at a time — upload a CSV, and Tempora validates every row, resolves departments, and reports exactly what was created, skipped, or failed.

New

Guided setup checklist

New agencies get a short checklist on the dashboard — add a department, invite an employee, generate a schedule — that disappears once you're up and running.

New

Public status page

Check whether Tempora is up at any time on our status page, backed by a live health check rather than a static notice.

New

Security & Trust page, and a downloadable DPA template

Published a public summary of our security practices, plus a downloadable Data Processing Agreement template for enterprise customers who need one before signing.

Improved

Client assignment from the department detail page

Assign a department to a billing client directly from that department's own page, not just from the department list.

New

Client billing

Bill hours worked in a department to a client at a configured rate, and export the totals as CSV — the first step toward full invoicing.

New

Shift templates

Save your agency's own shift times as reusable templates and use them when generating schedules, instead of retyping start and end times.

New

Compliance rule tracking against official labor-law sources

Scheduling rules (rest periods, maximum hours) are now checked against a tracked set of official labor-law sources rather than hardcoded assumptions.

Improved

Automated dependency scanning and CI

Every change now runs through automated type-checking, linting, and a full build before it ships, with weekly automated scanning for known vulnerabilities in dependencies.

New

AI help assistant

An in-app assistant that answers questions about how to use Tempora in plain language, right where you're working.

New

Two-factor authentication

Protect your account with a second sign-in step using an authenticator app. Once it's on, a password alone is no longer enough to get in.
